Use one mark per card
Every ribbon measurement contributes exactly one X to the plot.
Plot exact quarter-inch ribbon measurements and stack repeated values into a distribution.

Your goal
Place one X for every ribbon card, using the exact quarter-inch positions. Stack repeated lengths.
Reduced motion is on. The controls still update the scene.
You placed 0 of 4 measurements. At 1 inches there are 0 X marks.
All values are stored as whole quarter inches to keep fractions exact. A line plot shows how often a measurement occurs. The horizontal axis uses equal quarter-inch intervals. Each X represents one ribbon, and repeated lengths share a tick.
Measurement Line Plot helps elementary students organize fractional measurements into a visible distribution. Ribbon cards show lengths measured in quarter inches. Children select the corresponding position on an equally spaced number line and add one X for each card, stacking repeated measurements at the same location. They can remove marks to correct mistakes, and the activity compares the completed frequencies with every card rather than checking only the total number of marks. Practice and challenge sets include more observations, supporting discussion of common values and how a distribution summarizes individual measurements.
Every ribbon measurement contributes exactly one X to the plot.
Measurements with the same value belong above the same tick.
Adjacent ticks differ by one quarter inch, even across whole numbers.
Represent fractional measurement frequencies on equally spaced line-plot positions. Ask students to predict what will happen, change one setting, and explain what they observe. Learn gives a starting point. Practice and Challenge offer new goals with the same scene.
