Geometry

C before S, 90 before 180

C before S 90 before 180

Helps you remember complementary equals 90 and supplementary equals 180.

When to use it

Use it whenever a problem asks for the complement or supplement of an angle, to recall which total each type adds up to.

Example

The complement of 35° is 90°35°=55°90° - 35° = 55°. The supplement of 35° is 180°35°=145°180° - 35° = 145°.

Common mistake

Swapping the two values. C comes before S in the alphabet, just as 90 comes before 180.
