The answer is 18. First multiply 4 × 3 = 12, then add 6 + 12 = 18. - 2

Division comes before subtraction.

Do not simply work from left to right when multiplication is mixed with addition.
The correct answer is 17. The multiplication is done first: 2 × 5 = 10. Then 7 + 10 = 17. - 12
Put brackets into this number sentence to make it equal 45: 5 + 4 × 9 = 45
Think about which part must be done first to make 9 × 9.
The correct sentence is (5 + 4) × 9 = 45. The brackets make 5 + 4 happen first, giving 9 × 9 = 45.
