Ordinal Numbers
- Ordinal numbers describe position in a sequence.
- 1st (first), 2nd (second), 3rd (third), 4th (fourth)...
- Most ordinals add th: 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th...
- Special cases: 1st, 2nd, 3rd (not 1th, 2th, 3th).
Cardinal vs. Ordinal
- Cardinal numbers count how many: 1, 2, 3...
- Ordinal numbers tell position: 1st, 2nd, 3rd...
- You use cardinal numbers to count apples in a bowl.
- You use ordinal numbers to describe who won the race.
How to Use This Tool

- Story mode reads a short clue story. Find the missing animal from context.
- Start with Learn (positions 1-5), then Practice (1-7), then Challenge (1-10).

- Race results: who finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd?
- Floors in a building: 1st floor, 2nd floor, 3rd floor.
- Days of the month: the 1st of January, the 3rd of July.
