Reference Guide
Common Revision Issues
- Passive voice. The subject receives the action instead of doing it. Name the actor.
- Wordy phrases. Long phrases that say little. Cut or shorten them.
- Weak verbs. Vague verbs like "is," "get," or "do." Replace with a specific verb.
- Redundancy. Saying the same thing twice in different words.
