Tip: Each hop moves the frog one step. Count the hops carefully to land in the right spot.
Reference Guide
Counting On
- Counting on means starting at a number and counting forward.
- To solve 7 + 3: start at 7, hop forward 3 times to reach 10.
- This is faster than counting from 1 every time.
- Number paths show why addition moves right.
Counting Back
- Counting back means starting at a number and going left.
- To solve 10 - 4: start at 10, hop back 4 times to reach 6.
- Subtraction is movement in the reverse direction.
- Practice both directions to build number sense.
How to Use This Tool
- Read the challenge at the top of the card.
- Press the hop button the correct number of times.
- Watch the frog move along the path.
- The frog stops automatically after the last hop.
Difficulty Levels
- Learn. Forward hops only, 1 to 3 hops, starting from 0 to 10.
