How to use Casio fx-9750GIII

Keys, modes and editing

MENU opens RUN-MAT, STATISTICS, GRAPH, TABLE and EQUATION. The bottom display labels explain F1–F6. SHIFT MENU opens setup; EXIT returns to the previous screen. OPTN offers scientific functions and numerical tools; VARS recalls stored values.

SHIFT uses the gold label above a key; ALPHA uses the pink label. Select degrees, radians or grads in setup. The negative key starts a negative number; subtraction continues a calculation from Ans. S⇔D switches a recognized exact fraction or radical to decimal. ENG changes engineering notation.

Click the calculator to type numbers and operators. Enter calculates, Escape clears, and arrows edit or navigate. DEL deletes at the cursor; Backspace deletes before it. Up recalls history on the calculation screen. The Expression field accepts named functions; labeled form fields can be edited directly or with calculator keys. Extra web controls make the supported functions easier to reach.

Graph, trace and G-SOLVE

Enter GRAPH, choose a row and type a function. F3 TYPE selects Cartesian, polar or parametric input; F1 SEL includes or excludes a row, and F6 DRAW plots the selected functions. Polar and parametric functions use the parameter range and the current angle unit. Color distinguishes PRIZM curves; the fx-9750GIII uses monochrome line styles.

SHIFT F1 enters Trace. Left and Right move along the selected curve; Up and Down change the curve. SHIFT F2 opens Zoom; SHIFT F3 opens V-Window. Set finite minimum and maximum coordinates or use standard, trigonometric and square presets. Scale labels describe the current window.

SHIFT F5 opens G-SOLVE for roots, maxima, minima, y-intercept, intersections, derivative and definite integral. Analysis uses the selected Cartesian function and a bounded range. A root is accepted only when its residual is small; invalid domains or failed convergence return a recoverable error. Graph sampling can miss fine detail, so check an important result with values or a narrower window.

Equations, calculus and tables

EQUATION solves polynomial equations of degree 2–4 and linear systems with 2–4 unknowns in this simulator. SOLVE finds a numerical root near a guess. Derivatives, definite integrals, finite sums and products are available through numerical tools. Enter coefficients or bounds in the labeled fields, then calculate.

TABLE evaluates one or two functions over inclusive start, end and step values. This browser version uses a maximum of 45 rows for one function or 30 rows for two. Invalid ranges and undefined values produce an error. The table uses the same angle setting as calculations and graphs.

Statistics and scientific modes

Statistics supports one-variable summaries, paired data and regression. Enter comma-separated real data, optional integer frequencies and a prediction value. The implemented distributions include normal, binomial and Poisson functions. Complex mode supports i, magnitude, argument and conjugate; Base-N offers signed 32-bit DEC, HEX, BIN and OCT arithmetic and logical functions.

Matrices support MatA through MatD, up to 4×4, with determinant, inverse and transpose. Vectors have two or three components and support dot product, cross product, magnitude and angle. The latest matrix/vector result can be recalled. Singular matrices and incompatible dimensions return an error.

Textbook output recognizes selected fractions, simple radicals and multiples of π numerically. It is not a computer algebra system. Scientific constants and conversions are a selected reference set using the site’s current values, rather than every entry or historical constant on the handheld.

Worked examples and sharing

Follow mode highlights the next physical key. Watch mode lets you explore; Play step animates one instruction and stops. Show me completes one instruction immediately. Pause, Back, Restart and Return to example help you revisit each result. Copy link shares the calculation or current example position.

Long inputs, replay payloads and numerical searches are bounded so a malformed calculation cannot monopolize the page. Random calculations replay from a deterministic seed. Graph expressions reject random functions, and this version does not implement programming, 3D Graph, Picture Plot, dynamic graphs, Sketch drawing, spreadsheets or USB communication. Consult Casio’s manual for the complete physical calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How do I use the Casio fx-9750GIII calculator?

Use the keypad or Expression field, then EXE to calculate. MENU opens the supported apps; SHIFT MENU opens setup. Graph functions use F6 DRAW, with SHIFT F1 for Trace and SHIFT F5 for G-SOLVE. Select a worked example and use Play step to watch one instruction at a time.

Does Play step run the whole example?

Play step animates the keys for the current instruction, then pauses at its boundary. Play it again for the next instruction. Pause stops mid-step; Back, Restart and Return to example rebuild the calculator so you can practice safely.

Which graphs can I draw?

The simulator draws Cartesian y=f(x), polar r=f(θ), and parametric x=f(t), y=g(t) curves. It provides six stored rows, window controls, trace and numerical graph analysis. Undefined samples break the curve; drawing is bounded and is not a proof of continuity.

Is this the official Casio emulator?

This is an independent educational simulator that runs in your browser. It uses adapted menus and bounded numerical methods. It does not run Casio firmware, programs, USB transfers or an exam mode, and its capabilities and limits differ from the physical calculator. It does not perform general symbolic algebra.

Can I share a calculation?

Copy link saves a bounded replay of keys, menu choices, edited fields, settings and graph entries, or the current example position. The recipient can resume the calculation. The page shows a notice when a session is too long to share; reset to start a new session.
