Multiplication Arrays & Equal Groups Builder
See multiplication four different ways. Build arrays, draw equal groups, skip count on a number line, and explore fact families. Supports times tables from 1×1 to 12×12. All computation runs in your browser.

Reference Guide
Arrays
An array arranges objects in equal rows and columns. 3 rows of 4 means 3 × 4 = 12.
Rows × Columns = Total. Turning the array sideways shows the commutative property: 3 × 4 and 4 × 3 give the same product.
Equal Groups
Multiplication means equal groups. 3 groups of 4 is the same as 3 × 4.
Each group has the same number of objects. If any group has a different count, it is not multiplication.
Skip Counting
Multiplying by 5 is the same as counting by fives: 5, 10, 15, 20. The number of skips is the other factor.
A number line makes this visible. Each hop adds one group. After 4 hops of 5, you land on 20.
Fact Families
Every multiplication fact has a family of 4 related facts: 3 × 4 = 12, 4 × 3 = 12, 12 ÷ 3 = 4, and 12 ÷ 4 = 3.
Multiplication and division are inverse operations. Knowing one fact helps you remember the other three.
