Lines of Symmetry
A line of symmetry splits a shape into two matching halves. If you fold the shape along that line, both sides line up perfectly.
Some shapes have one line of symmetry (like the letter A), some have multiple (a square has 4), and a circle has infinitely many.
Mirror Drawing
Whatever you draw on one side of the mirror line appears reflected on the other side. This is exactly how a line of symmetry works.
Try drawing a simple shape on the left and watch it appear mirrored on the right. Switch to horizontal mode to see the reflection flip top-to-bottom instead.
Pattern Blocks
Pattern blocks are classic shapes that fit together neatly: green triangles, orange squares, blue rhombuses, red trapezoids, and yellow hexagons.
Place them on the grid and see how different shapes can fill the same space. Click a placed block to remove it.
Shape Composition
Smaller shapes can combine to make larger ones. For example, 6 green triangles fit together perfectly to make 1 yellow hexagon.
Other fun facts: 2 red trapezoids = 1 hexagon, 3 blue rhombuses = 1 hexagon, and 1 rhombus = 2 triangles. Try building these on the grid!
